Are you ready to bring out the best in yourself and your dog?

If your answer is a resounding YES, then join me this August for…

Become The Person Your Dog Inspires You To Be

Does your dog have one or more behaviors that you would love to change or that cause you discomfort in certain situations?

Do you have areas in your life that you’ve worked hard to change but still aren’t getting the results you want?

Maybe you know you need to put the effort in to make a change but you just feel like you can’t or don’t want to put the time in to make the change. Or perhaps you feel at your wits end on a life or a dog behavior challenge and feel hopeless because it feels like you’ve tried everything, and nothing has worked.

If any of these statements feel true for you, you are in good company, as these feelings are very much a part of our human experience.

What if there was a way to solve your dog’s annoying behaviors while at the same time making measurable progress on your own areas of life that you feel need improvement?

What if there was a way to harness the passion and joy you naturally feel for dogs and use it as fuel to propel yourself to create lasting and positive change in your life?  And what if that success could spill over into all areas of your life?

Even better, what if the process didn’t involve any more time that you already know you’d like to spend with your dear canine companion? What if the journey to transformation was FUN for both of you?

If you want to solve your dog’s annoying or worrisome behavior while up-leveling your life, there is a groundbreaking new program that can help you accomplish both in a fun and powerful way. You really can learn what to do to help your dog stop acting out in troubling ways quickly and easily by developing a deeper, more rewarding relationship with your dog.

For many people, interacting with their dog is the most joyful part of their day, maybe even their lives.

  • It’s one of the simple pleasures of life.
  • Dogs love us unconditionally.
  • Dogs are happy to see us.
  • Dogs are always present, and therefore bring us to the present moment, where our joy is found.

And when this is not our experience, it’s upsetting and frustrating. It feels wrong.  But what if your dog is trying to communicate with you, in the only way he or she can get your attention?

A relationship involves communication, and a great relationship is dependent on the communication going both ways. Once you learn to interpret your dog’s heartfelt signals, choosing how to respond will be easy, and your relationship will quickly transform into a better one.

Dogs Are Spiritual Teachers

Your dog absorbs your energy and has some (not so hidden) important messages to give you about yourself. Messages that are the very key to your own transformation into a more alive and vital version of yourself.

Your dog knows where your blind spots are. Learning to listen deeply to your dog will not only transform your relationship with your dog but also will give you valuable information about your own stuck energy and hidden limiting beliefs.  This new awareness can lead to valuable insights that will make creating lasting change more effortless and easier in any area of your life.

I promise, if you give yourself the gift of being present to the exercises in the program, you and your dog will be forever changed in a positive way.  Even without your conscious effort.  That’s the magic of insight.

Insight is the Most Powerful of Elixirs

Insight is a flash of understanding that makes doing things the old way nearly impossible.  It makes new directions feel like the path of least resistance. It makes new habits easy to form, and change comes quickly with ease, fun, and flow. And when insight is combined with wisdom and presence, anything is possible.  How do I know?

Well.  In my line of work, I get to see miracles happen – all the time.

Hi, I’m Iris Grimm.
You may know me as Iris, the dog behavioral consultant, founder of ItsNotTheDog.com.  The go-to person when someone has a hard to manage dog that is showing dog aggressive or human aggressive behaviors.  I am always eager to teach people how to help a dog thrive in a happy home.

Or you may know me as Iris, the high-performance leadership expert.  The go-to person when a high achieving business owner, executive, or physician must adapt quickly to new demands and high-level responsibilities. I’m happy to partner with any person who is willing to see their life and their work through different lenses, so they can step outside their chosen routines, processes, and viewpoints to try something new – no matter how much these routines, processes and viewpoints have helped them achieve their goals in the past. And then they transform quickly.

Regardless of which hat I am wearing when I am working with people, whether it is with their career or with their dogs, I use a combination of wisdom, insight, and presence to create new understanding which brings new action which invariably leads to new results.

The most common feedback I receive is how our time together has created broad, life-scale, positive results, whether our interaction was a series of one on one conversations or a one-time group webinar.

I’ve lost 30 pounds and feel more balanced!

Meghan was at her wits end with her dog, Lucie.  Although she never wanted to be “that person”, she was considering re-homing Lucie. Meghan adopted Lucie just a couple of months earlier. She fell in love with Lucie because the shelter staff told her that little Lucie was a very laid back and sweet dog. Meghan looked for that calm and laid-back dog. She worked a lot of hours and she didn’t have that much time (at least that is what she thought) to spend with her dog even though she desired canine companionship. In the first couple of weeks everything was great. But soon, each evening Lucie would become rambunctious and destructive, demanding all of Meghan’s attention. No matter what Meghan did, Lucie refused to calm down and often ruined the precious few hours Meghan had to herself after working hard all day. Meghan called me as a last resort.

I led Meghan through a series of deep communication exercises with Lucie. The exercises made Meghan look differently at her life, at Lucie, and both of their behaviors. She also realized that Lucie’s behavior was a form of communication and she had to learn to listen. Her willingness to listen deeper created a stronger emotional connection.
In the next couple of sessions, Meghan brought some work related topics to our meetings. Instead of talking them through from an analytical mind, we invited Lucie into the conversation.

When Meghan felt the wisdom, compassion, and love that Lucie was showering her with, she realized the gift that Lucie brought to her life. That motivated her to spend quality time with Lucie after work. At first, they spent time playing and walking just for a few minutes, which was gratifying and fun. She looked forward to her evenings with Lucie which disciplined her to stop working crazy long hours. Additionally, Meghan stopped stuffing her frustration down with food. She started to enjoy moving her body for the first time in a very long time. So far, Meghan has lost 30 pounds and she is happy about how well and energetic she feels. Needless to say, Lucie didn’t come into Meghan’s life to keep her company but to restore her health and help her feel more balanced.

My life is back in balance

Mark hired me to work with him because he was stressed out and frustrated in his business. Together we formulated strategies to help him put out some of the big fires that were popping up, and Mark was beginning to feel more in control. Knowing that I work with dogs, Mark asked me why he could not get his dog, Jake, to stop jumping on him when he came home at night. I taught Mark some observation techniques that would help him understand Jake’s communication better.

Mark noticed that Jake only jumped on him on days when he had upsets pertaining to a specific situation during the day.  Mark was not aware on a conscious level that this situation bothered him more than others because he felt he wasn’t communicating well.  Jake’s jumping was not an obnoxious trait but a spiritual reminder that Mark was completely out of balance.  In the dog world, when a pack member is out of balance, the rest of the pack will do anything they can to restore balance.

The awareness that Jake was trying to help Mark changed their relationship instantly.  Mark knew he needed to address certain relationships at work, and we were able to use communication techniques in a targeted way to lift the strain that Mark was carrying.  Jake did not need any disciplinary action.  When Mark showed up calmer, Jake greeted him appropriately.  “I probably would have gone on miserable about that situation”, Mark said, “but my buddy Jake knew better”.

These are just two examples, where my clients, their dogs, and I partnered to make positive improvements in their lives.

So how about you?  What’s holding you back from creating the results you want?

What messages does your dog have for you that you have not been able to see for yourself?

How can you turn that wisdom into the new insight that will propel you forward in life?

What shifts in perspective will enable you to live with more joy, ease, and flow?

I want to extend this invitation to partner with me in my upcoming program called, “Become The Person Your Dog Inspires You To Be.”

My intention with this partnership is to strengthen the bond with your dog while at the same time make meaningful improvements in your life. This value-packed program is like a masterclass in dog handling and a masterclass in living your best life all in one journey of aha moments and fun bonding time with your dog.

Intention Setting

We’ll begin by setting a grand intention for our time together. Here I will encourage you to reach beyond what you believe is possible because growth happens when you go beyond your comfort zone.  If you are not striving for a meaningful change, your limiting beliefs will not be triggered, and we won’t have as much resistance to break through. Breaking through resistance is probably the most important thing you will accomplish in our time together.  You will be a more powerful you as a result.

Mindful Presence

Next we’ll learn some easy techniques that will increase the joy you feel in every moment just by allowing yourself to be more fully present.  Your dog is the best teacher for this one.  You’ll spend time just being present with your dog to deepen your bond and open up to the fullness of the moment.

Wisdom/Animal Communication

Next, we’ll learn to tune in deeply to what your dog is telling you about his life and yours. You’ll finally enjoy the 2-way communication that is necessary to form a great relationship with your dog. You’ll learn the ways that dogs impart spiritual lessons to their humans, and you’ll begin to see your dog’s, and your own behavior in a new light.

Practical Dog Care & Training Techniques

We’ll cover and demystify the different theories of dog training and you’ll understand why one size does NOT fit all.  You’ll know from your communication what techniques will bring the results you are looking for. And by picking up signals from your dog, you’ll know when to use more consistency and when to switch gears entirely.

Effective Leadership Techniques

This is where you learn to manage your life and relationships better.  Everything from getting in shape to parenting to managing a team can be made easier with effective leadership skills. You’ll learn powerful communication techniques and learn to embody the change you are seeking so that others are inspired by your modeling. You’ll also learn to manage stress more effectively and to set appropriate boundaries.

Iris, I cannot thank you enough for your kind service to people and animals….you are truly a treasure!  You have saved people so much heartache and frustration, and helped keep pets in their homes….truly amazing how do you do it!?!  LOL  Thank you again, we are so lucky to know of you and your gifts.

Those of us who are lucky enough to realize that there are boundaries to be overcome in one’s life, can consider themselves even luckier if they happen to meet a Coach such as Iris. I consider myself very lucky to have had Iris at my side, throughout several occasions, since we know each other. Career changes or relocating to a different continent have brought up challenges, in the past, which I needed support with. What I admire about Iris, is her absolute integrity, her outstanding intelligence. I have never met a person who is ready to share her knowledge and wisdom in such a way. I am amazed at her coaching skills, to not provide an answer for me but instead to guide me to my own wisdom. Looking back and looking forward, I see that it takes courage to face the limits that I am setting myself. Having Iris as my coach, who herself is such a bright example of possibilities in life, is truly uplifting. Thank you Iris!

I’m so grateful for your powerful coaching and teaching: because of you, I didn’t miss the greatest lesson my dog’s life and companionship taught me. As you know we laid him to rest today. What you teach is the biggest blessing to dog owners.

Thanks to you I learned shortly before Luke’s transition that he was in my life for a little over a decade as a constant reminder to relax. To breathe. To simply be. To love. That everything would be alright. He was the calmest dog I ever encountered and one of my greatest teachers. The message of his life is exactly what I need to be reminded of. All things are working together for good (no matter how painful).

Why Wait for a Crisis to Make a Change?

I work with people in crisis all the time.  And we all know that a crisis is extremely motivating.  But by the time a crisis hits, some of the damage caused by a situation has gone on too long and can’t be reversed, and that’s OK.

Becoming aware of the spiritual guidance that your dog is giving you can help you catch things in earlier stages, which can make the new direction much easier for all involved.

There are times when we see others moving forward in the direction of their choosing, whether it’s getting in shape, making a career change, or having a better relationship with their spouse, and we wonder if we have what it takes to make that our reality, or if life is just passing us by.

This is one of those forks in the road

The worst-case scenario is to give up on believing that the new direction you seek is possible for you. I’m here to tell you that whatever you desire is possible, and if you have even an inkling of desire, you have the means to fulfill it within you.

Your Adventure Awaits

“Become the Person Your Dog Inspires You to Be” is truly a one of a kind adventure.  You will make new connections and insights which will change how you see your life and your dog – forever.
